You need your Orchids.

The next upcoming event from LEO Club is the Orchid Day!

It is a day to spread awareness about breast cancer to every part of the world, or in our case, we start by Taylors College Sri Hartamas (: We do hope that every member of Leo club will actively participate in this event. Not only that, spread to members from other clubs too! We are also collaborating with DOT club.

This event will be held on March 30th 2011 from 8.30am onwards until 10.30am. One will simply need to purchase an orchid flower, or anything sold on that day to show your support to the one in twenty women affected by breast cancer in Malaysia.

You ask, why Orchids?

Breast cancer survivors are a resilient bunch just like the orchid flower. To fight breast cancer it takes courage and strength. By purchasing an Orchid on Orchid Day you will be helping to reduce the impact of breast cancer in Malaysia and spread the message that, "early detection saves lives".

Purchase an orchid for yourself, your mum, sister or a female friend or family member to show them that you are supporting women affected by this disease and ensuring that those who are affected are not left alone to fight breast cancer.

Among the many different types of flowers available, the orchid holds a special place as one of the most alluring and captivating, making them a special choice for the treasured people in your life.

You are most welcome to come and support this event!
Play a simple part, make a difference, save a life.

Sugar Rush Project

The club was running short on funds, so the main aim of this project is to raise funds for charity. Look at it some other way: Leo Club is there to serve the community, and we will put the fund raised to good use - to charity, of course!

Date: 29 - 30 March 2010
Time: 11.30 am - 1.30 pm

Through the 3-day Sugar Rush project, all Leos were actively selling sweet foodstuffs. Teenagers, especially the females, are rumoured to be irresistible to sweet-tasting foods. It wasn't bad at all: students needed some snacks to keep their brains from the lethargic Mathematics problem, let's just say. At the end of the day, everyone's happy. We managed to raise a motivating amount of funds, and our customers get to enjoy the products, like...

Sweets - all kinds
Cotton candies
Biscuits randing from Oreos to Rocky
Lollipops
Marshmallows
Drinks

Booths were set up on the First and Second floor of the campus, right at the middle of the pathway to the escalator.

Some of our Leos did promotion around the campus too, but walking around the campus like Santa Claus. Who can resist the temptation of sweets? Overall, the walking publicity had definitely made a boost in our sales, even the lecturers supported by making purchases or sums of donation.

All in all, the event went very well, with many 'thumbs up' along the way. All Leos put their best foot forward to make this event successful.

THANK YOU to all Leos who contributed to this event.

THANK YOU to those who purchased our goods.

You guys are the best! (:
